What is it?

The Spirit Run is a 5K family run/walk.

Who can participate?

Individuals and families of all ages are welcome to participate.

Where is the race?

The start and finish lines are at University High School. University is located on 116th Street, mile west of Towne Road. The course meanders through both West Park and Coxhall Gardens.

How much does it cost to participate?

$25 mailed in registration fee must be postmarked by October 18
$25 online registration fee until October 22
$30 registration fee at packet pick-up on October 24 (3:00 - 6:00 PM) and October 25 (7:30 - 8:45 AM)

How do I register?

You can complete registration online by clicking here. Please complete a separate registration for each participant. If you prefer, you can request a paper registration form from:

Is there a registration deadline?

Yes, mailed in written applications must be postmarked Saturday, October 18. The deadline for online registration is Wednesday, October 22. You may register late during packet pick-up times - October 24 (3:00 - 6:00 PM) and October 25 (7:30 - 8:45 AM) - but the registration fee increases to $30.

How do I confirm my registration?

You may use the search function through the Confirmation link or request an email confirmation by contacting us at runinfo@universityhighschool.org.

Where are the water stations?

A water station will be located in Coxhall Gardens.

What are the award divisions?

The top three overall winners in the run will receive separate awards and the top three runners in each age group will receive awards. Age groups for the 5K Run are:

14 and under
15 - 19
20 - 24
25 - 29
30 - 34
35 - 39
40 - 44
45 - 49
50 - 54
55 - 59
60 - 64
65 and over

There are no awards for the 5K Walk.

Where can I get race results?

Results will be posted on the website, www.spirit-run.org and announced at the end of the race.

Where do the proceeds go?

Proceeds provide program funds for University High School and for non-profit organizations dedicated to youth efforts and to nurturing young hearts and minds.

What time does the Spirit Run start?

The Spirit Run and Walk both start at 9:00 a.m.

Where do I pick up my packet?

Race packets are available at the packet pickup table in Andrews Hall at University High School on Friday, October 24 from 3:00 PM. - 6:00 PM and Saturday, October 25, 7:30 AM. - 8:45 AM.

May walkers participate?

Yes, walkers may participate.

May I pick up my friend or family members race packet?

Yes, you may pick up a friend or family member's race packet.

Where can I park?

University High School has two surface lots. Parking is also available in West Park, which is located across the street from University High School.

What happens if I can't finish?

There are course marshals that will transport you to the finish line should you need assistance.
